ProjectsHotels Holiday Inn Express City Centre | Hamburg
This building, originally built in 1959 as a tyre storage depot for Continental and used in the meantime as a tax office, was converted in 2009 to a Holiday Inn Express Hotel with 180 rooms. Thanks to the deployment of a new type of facade insulation and heat supply from a combined heating and power station it proved possible to achieve an overall degree of energy efficiency 135% above the level required by the EnEV (Energy Saving Act) 2009 for modernised old buildings.
